Data Deletion
You have full control over your data. Learn how to delete individual projects or your entire account.
Deletion is Permanent
Account deletion permanently removes all your data from our systems. This action cannot be reversed. Please make sure you have saved any content you need before proceeding.
1. Deleting Individual Projects
To delete a single project, navigate to your Dashboard, open the project you want to remove, and use the delete option in the project settings. This will permanently delete:
- The script text and all saved drafts
- All retention audit results for that project
- All rewrite history and suggestions
- Any exported reports associated with the project
2. Deleting Your Entire Account
To delete your account and all associated data, go to your Dashboard Settings and select Delete Account. You will be asked to re-authenticate for security. Once confirmed, the system will perform a cascade deletion that removes:
3. What Happens During Deletion
When you initiate account deletion:
- You will be asked to re-authenticate to confirm your identity.
- The system begins a cascade deletion, removing all Firestore collections and documents associated with your user ID.
- Your Firebase Authentication record is permanently deleted.
- Your active session is immediately terminated and cookies are cleared.
- You are redirected to the homepage.
4. Email-Based Deletion Request
If you are unable to access your account, you may request data deletion by emailing support@retentionyt.com from the email address associated with your account. Please include “Account Deletion Request” in the subject line. We will verify your identity and process the request within 30 days.
5. Data Retention After Deletion
After account deletion, we do not retain any of your personal data, project content, or audit history. Anonymized, aggregated usage statistics (such as total audits performed across all users) may be retained for operational purposes, but these cannot be linked back to your account.
